N25 KAJANG : BETRAYAL FOR THE GREATER GOOD?

LEE CHIN CHEH
Ex-ADUN of Kajang

It is absolutely inconceivable to think how Lee Chin Cheh, an ADUN (State Assemblyman), who was just elected by the people less than a year ago, could easily betrayed the trust of the people by vacating his seat without any logical reason.

Mind you, "For the greater good of Pakatan Rakyat" as Lee puts it, is hardly a reason at all.

He may think that the people is blind, but we know better.

It is an open secret that there is a glaring power struggle in the leadership of the Selangor Government. Lee's resignation as the ADUN of Kajang is actually just a piece of a bigger 'strategy' in motion.

So, let's try to put pieces together.

On one hand, we have Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim, a corporate-turn-politician figure, who is now the Menteri Besar of Selangor. He is on his second term in that position after Pakatan Rakyat won the state again in the 13th General Election (GE13). Khalid is well-known to all as the proxy of PKR President, Dr Wan Azizah, who is also the wife of Opposition Leader, Anwar Ibrahim.

On the other hand, we have Azmin Ali (a.k.a Si Tanggang - click here), who have been loyal to Anwar since their days in UMNO many years ago. Azmin is now the Deputy President of PKR. He is said to hold a lot of Anwar's secrets, making Anwar vulnerable to Azmin's every demands.

However, making Azmin the Menteri Besar of Selangor is a demand that Anwar finds difficult to fulfill.

After GE13 last May, Azmin disappointedly disclosed that he was verbally promised by Anwar himself, the position of Menteri Besar Selangor should PR wins the state in that election. GE13 came and go, and PR did win Selangor with an increased number of assemblymen, but Azmin was never made the Menteri Besar as promised.

Since then, it is said that Azmin have been bugging PKR leadership to make him the Menteri Besar of Selangor as promised. This obviously does not jell well with Khalid's camp.

And the Azmin-Khalid friction became more and more obvious by the day.
...........

Another piece of this puzzle is PKR's allay, PAS, who was actually the REAL HERO for PR in Selangor in the last election when they won 15 constituencies, as compared to PKR who had a reduced number of reps to 14 assemblymen. Technically, Selangor should have been a PAS-led state. But mysteriously, PAS never stood up for their rights and allowed Khalid to be sworn in as the Menteri Besar for the second term. Together with DAP, PAS have nominated and seal the deal for Khalid to remain as Menteri Besar of Selangor after GE13, of course to the dismay of Azmin, who have been eyeing on that post.

This puts Anwar in a tight spot. Although Anwar is seen to be favoring Azmin as the Menteri Besar, but ousting Khalid, who received support from PAS, DAP and also a known proxy to his president wife, will be a big challenge.
............

A few months back, out of the blue - suddenly there were rumors going around saying that Khalid's time as Menteri Besar is almost up. People are saying that it is just a matter of time before he will be kicked out from that position.

All eyes were on Azmin, the obvious! But of course, these rumors were denied.

This eventually led to the shameful resignation of Lee Chin Cheh, the ADUN of Kajang. He is still alive and healthy, and without providing any justified reason - he just resigned. An absolute betrayal of the people's trust.

To the surprise of many, Anwar Ibrahim was named as the PR's candidate to contest in the by election in Kajang, giving strength to the rumors of Anwar overthrowing Khalid as the Menteri Besar. This is really a downgrade from Anwar's lifetime ambition of becoming the next Prime Minister.

Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim

Interestingly, Lee's resignation and Anwar's candidacy in N25 DUN Kajang was done is such a hurry and filled with mysteries. Even top leadership of Pakatan Rakyat were blind-sided on this matter.

Among others..

Azmin Ali was absent during the press conference where Anwar was named as the candidate for Kajang. This definitely raised a lot of eye brows. When asked by reporters if he support Anwar's candidacy for Kajang, Azmin did not give a direct answer, but instead he said that the decision have already been made and described himself as 'small man' and that his opinion does not matter.

Lim Guan Eng, who is the Secretary General of DAP and the Chift Minister of Penang, said that he only found out about the vacancy in Kajang and Anwar's candidacy through the media.

Nasrudin Tantawi, a member of PAS Central Committee, who is also the Head of PAS Youth wing, came out with guns blazing, condemning the development after hearing about Lee's betrayal to the people and Anwar's candidacy for Kajang through the media. He went on even further than other leaders by calling it HARAM.

Besides the leaders, the people have also came out to voiced out their surprise and frustration on the development in Kajang. Almost immediately after Anwar was named as the candidate, netizens started to post protest and questions over this announcement.

Absolute waste of people's money to have an absolutely unnecessary by election!

Has Anwar given up hope of ever capturing Putrajaya and becoming the PM?

Anwar the magician!

Is Anwar confident enough that the people in Kajang will be blinded by the betrayal of Lee Chin Cheh, to then put Lee's boss as the ADUN there?

This is just an attempt to divert our attention from Anwar's upcoming court case for liwat - Simple!!

Is Azmin part of this masterplan or is he being played again?

What is to happen to the PKR-PAS-DAP coalition, when the Menteri Besar of their choice, Khalid, is threatened to be removed by just one man?

People of Kajang need to say it loud and clear:

"We will not allow power-hungry politicians to treat us like pawns on a chess board. The betrayal of Lee and PKR is absolutely unacceptable! ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!"

Election Fever : POLITICAL BAGGAGE..

Election fever is definitely in the air!!

While other politicians are still playing the guessing game on when the 13th General Election (GE13) is going to be held, one man seems to have already started to sprint, making headlines after headlines. That man is none other than Anwar Ibrahim. He seems to be pulling all stops in what many are describing as his last stride.

Anwar political career have been nothing but spectacular. His student days as an activist against the government are still being talked about till this day, as well as his overnight U-turn from student activist to an UMNO member, his high speed rise to power within the BN government which almost saw him helming the Prime Ministership, his downfall from power and life in confinement, his controversy released in 2004, his entrance back into active politics and his ever changing character from an ultra-Malay to someone who now enjoys the support of the Non Malays more than the Malays.

Anwar is regarded as a (god given) hero among the opposition, who miraculously glued together 2 opposing opposition parties - PAS & DAP. It is an open secret that these 2 parties can NEVER work together because of their fundamental differences. But with Anwar and his PKR party being the binder, PAS & DAP are now seen holding hands. Ironically, until today, they have put very little effort into 'marrying' the 3 parties. This loose coalition between DAP, PKR and PAS gained some significant grounds in the last election, by capturing 5 states in the Peninsular Malaysia. Everyone (even people from the BN camp), cannot deny that that 'political tsunami' in 2008 was due to the 'Anwar' factor.

However, the tune have changed lately because there have been a rapid declining trend of that 'Anwar' factor among the general public and among the opposition themselves. If Anwar Ibrahim was seen as the champion for the opposition in 2008 GE12, he is now seen as a BURDEN that the opposition has to carry. Since 2008, the nation have also witnessed the biggest 'number-of-people-leaving-a-party-in-a-single-term' in history.

The most prominent name of those who left PKR is none other than Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan. His departure from PKR captured world-wide coverage, not because of the departure per say, but because of the accusations he made against  Anwar.

Who is Saiful?

Saiful used to be Anwar's private assistance, who follows Anwar abroad and arranging for Anwar's daily schedule. However, he later claimed to have been sodomized by his boss (Anwar) on several occasions and lodged a police report. Anwar was charged under Section 377B. And after years of legal battle, Anwar was eventually found NOT GULTY of this charge on technical basis in 2012.

His defense lawyers successfully argued that the prosecutors have actually filed the charge under the wrong Section.

Section 377B says : "Whoever voluntarily commits carnal intercourse against the order of nature shall be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to twenty years, and shall also be liable to whipping"

In one media interview, Karpal Singh, who was Anwar's lead council in this case said
"If they filed it under 377B, then the sodomy was consensual and both parties (i.e Anwar and Saiful) should be charged. Why is Anwar facing this charge alone??"

Karpal then explained that the correct section that the prosecutors should have filed this charge under was Section 377C.

Section 377C says : "Whoever voluntarily commits carnal intercourse against the order of nature on another person without the consent, or against the will, of the other person, or by putting the other person in fear of death or hurt to the person or any other person, shall be punished with imprisonment for a term of not less than five years and not more than twenty years, and shall also be liable to whipping."

The rest of the details about this sodomy case are history and Anwar remains a free man.

Dr Chandra Muzaffar - PKR (ex) Deputy President
Ezam Mohd Noor - PKR (ex) Youth Chief and also a Co-founder of the original 'KeADILan' party.

These are no ordinary people!!

They used to be leaders in PKR and strong supporters of Anwar Ibrahim. Their support for Anwar were so strong that some of them have even paid the price for breaking the law in Anwar's name. But after 2008, it was as if they were awaken from a spell and realized who Anwar really is.

And just like that, the magic in Anwar's name disappeared and his trusted circle started to rapidly shrink.

These people later join forces to form an NGO named "TIBAI", an acronym for Tolak Individu Bernama Anwar Ibrahim.

TIBAI aims to expose to Malaysian and the world just who Anwar Ibrahim really is. Rallies and gatherings have been organized by TIBAI for that purposes.

Meanwhile, those who still remains with him, including his political allies from DAP and PAS, are watching these developments closely and are doing their own calculation. Deep down, they cannot deny that Anwar was the one who got them together in 2008 under the unofficial banner of Pakatan Rakyat, but they definitely do not want to be dragged down with Anwar, should he fail. And everybody knows that without Anwar, PAS and DAP will be on each other's throats in split second.

They have learned to be weary of Anwar's statements because they know that Anwar is very slick with his words and is capable of saying something with confidence, even if it is not true.

Anwar proved this shortly after GE12 in 2008 when he announced to the world of his promise to overthrow the democratically-elected ruling party by 16 Sept that year, through ways of getting enough member of parliament from the ruling party to defect. The entire coalition of PR was brought to shame when this promise did not materialized.

Another was in 2010 when he came out bashing the Jews and Israel for illegally and brutally capturing a Malaysia's humanitarian vessel to Gaza. Everyone supported that motion. But a few days after, leaders in PR were put to shame again, when Anwar decided to make an apology visits to US over his allegedly anti-semantic statements.

Another was when he made statements that the laws on homosexual needs to be reviewed. Knowing the fact that homosexual is rejected in ALL religion, he once again made his political ally dumbfounded over his statement.

Another was at the Bersih 3.0 rally when Anwar was caught on video as the one giving instructions to demonstrators to break the police barricade, which is the turning point of that rally turning from a peaceful event to a violent one. Even Bersih demonstrators came out to criticize him for doing that.

Another was when the video of him having sex with a prostitute came out in the open. He continuously deny this, but until today dare not take legal actions on those who made the exposure.

And many more examples.

I am sure that I don't have to mention what Anwar's political enemies think about this promises, but is it not a secret that a lot of his own supporters and political allies are becoming weary of his words.

Lately, Anwar is seen to travel in style, AS IF trying to portray his capability to garner wealth.

The first was the PKR Bus. Funny how they call it the PKR bus, when the bus has Anwar's picture on it as big as the bus itself. This is weird because Anwar is not holding any official position in PKR. He is regarded as the De Factor Leader (Ketua Umum) of PKR, but that position is neither an official title nor was it open for contest in PKR's own election. In other words, the position Anwar is holding in his own party is a non-democratic position. A more suitable picture to be on that bus is picture of his wife, Azizah who is the Party President or Azmin Ali, who is the Party Deputy President. And if PKR claims that they are fighting for democracy, why are they glorifying someone who is holding a non-democratic position in the party?

Then there was this luxurious private plane that Anwar used to travel while in the East Malaysia. Again, AS IF Anwar is trying to portray his capability to garner wealth.

Here's a thought, all politician knows that the closer you are to the grass-root (i.e the way they talk, the way they spend, the way they travel, the way they eat), then the bigger political mileage that they would gain. So, one have to wonder just what is Anwar trying to do when he travels luxuriously on a bus with his face on it and on a private plane. Something the average Malaysian wouldn't even dare to dream of? Being an experienced politician, Anwar knows that by doing so, he is actually distancing himself from the grass root.

So, I wonder just who is Anwar trying to impress? Foreign support maybe?

Since GE13 is just around the corner, it is up to the rakyat to decide - are we going to maintain the status quo based of the growth and benefits that Malaysia has achieved or change for the sake of changing? What will happen when we go for change just for the sake of changing and put Pakatan Rakyat is Putrajaya as the federal government?

Remember this - Although Anwar is the opposition leader now, but his PKR party is not the majority holder in Pakatan Rakyat. He is being put there on the mercy of DAP. Again, this itself is going against the spirit of democracy, which is supposed to be the voice of the majority. If DAP really regards Anwar as a supreme leader, one who is even more superior than their own party president, then they should ask for DAP and PKR to merge and put Anwar is his 'rightful' place as supreme leader.

Why put someone who does not command the majority in the coalition as the opposition leader?

Again and yet again, Pakatan Rakyat have shown that they don't respect democracy, even if they continuously claimed that they do. But as the saying goes, action speaks louder than word.

I'll leave you with that thought. To me, wwhatever the result of GE13 may be, it proves that democracy is very much alive in our blessed nation - which is great!!

ANTI-HOPPING BILL TO BE HEARD IN PARLIAMENT

For once, I agree with Karpal's effort to table the anti-hopping bill in parliament.

Karpal Singh

Read more here.

To me as the rakyat, I understand that political parties have different views on things (sometimes on EVERYTHING) and this will translate into policies should they be given the mandate to rule the country. So, they go around spreading their views and plans to convince the people to give them the mandate.

For BN, who is the existing ruling and the only party who have been ruling the country since independence, they rely on their promises kept. They go around telling people that they mean what they say and have not make any big u-turns after any elections. They ask the people to look at their report card and continue to given them the mandate to rule.

For PR, who saw a positive swing in their favor in the last General Election (GE12), they rely on their plans for the future. They have never rule the country, so it is quite difficult for them to show any track record as a ruling party. But they now have at least 1-term report card for those states they currently control. They are going around telling people they can do better than BN and will be able to bring Malaysia to a greater height.

Of course, that is the ideal political scenario.

But in reality, besides the facts and the figures, some politicians will often resort to slandering, personal attack, threatening, deceiving and bribing in order to gain control. The people's sentiment are often taken for a roller coaster ride, which is a typical atmosphere nearing to GE with both sides of the political divide trying to woe the people.

Now, coming back to the anti-hopping bill and why I support that.

I just described above a typical atmosphere nearing to GE, which normally happens once in every 4 years. And once the people have given the mandate to the party of their choice, the political campaign should stop and everyone should focus on the nation's progress.

Once election is over, political parties should stop campaigning

But is this happening? No, because Article 10 and 48 of the Federal Constitution allows the elected representative to hop from one party to another. And this hopping sometimes changes entirely the mandate that was given by the people during the poll. I see this Articles as a sweetener to the political parties because they do not have to put any effort to convince the people as they would have to during any election. All they need to do is to convince enough elected representative to hop to their side and change the political power. Simple!

Is this tactic legal? Yes it is, because Article 10 & 48 allows this.

It this ethical? Absolutely not. The power should remain with the people to elect the party of their choice.

And because of this, the people are always bombarded with none stop political campaign because political parties continuously looking for opportunities to make use of this Article to gain control of the country. In 2008 for example, after GE12, Anwar Ibrahim as the opposition leader has openly declared that they have enough elected representatives, who has given him their commitment to hop to his side and automatically giving his party the mandate to topple the BN government. That captured world wide attention and he continuously gave 16 Sept 2008 as the 'big day'. Although Anwar's 'big day' passes by without any change of government, but it left the people with a realization that their mandate can be made worthless when political parties uses this Article 10 & 48 in the Federal Constitution to entice elected representative to hop.

Anwar Ibrahim said in 2008 "We have the numbers"

And the people are left to wonder, when are these two political sides going to declare a seize fire between them and start building the nation. They can start campaigning again after 4 years, not a problem, but once mandate is given by the people, everyone should respect that and work as one nation.

So, that's why I support the anti-hopping bill.

LGBT IS AGAINST ISLAMIC TEACHING. DON'T GET CONFUSED WITH STATEMENTS FROM PEOPLE WITH POLITICAL AGENDA

Since getting the support from some political figures in our country, LGBT has now been quite bold. They are going around saying that changes is urgently needed in the Malaysian law to recognize the 'right' of this group. People who practices homosexuality are also coming out in the open now to declare themselves. Some of these political figures supporting this hideous group includes those who claims to be promoting Islam.... SAD!

Read my earlier post on LGBT here.

Islam does not and will never recognize Lesbians, Gays, Bisexuals and Transgenders. This was specifically the act that Prophet Luth had tried tirelessly asking his people, the Sadoms, to stop. This was specifically the act that got the Sadom people destroyed by Allah SWT.

Prophet Muhammad SAW has warned us of this repeat of history in our time. He said :

"The worse thing I fear happening to my ummah is if they start doing the hideous things the people of Prophet Luth did"
(Narrated by Imam Ahmad)

LGBT are not humanly acts to be claiming for human right. So, stop or you will be stopped. And do not get confused by the statement of people with political agenda.

Earlier - I read with interest, Mazidul Akmal's blog as he made an expose about this gay guy named Tengku Harith. In his FB page, Tengku Harith claims that he is an alumni of Sekolah Menengah Agama Kerajaan Johor (SMAKJ) batch 1998. He mentioned that it was in that religious school that he first experienced homosexuality when he 'fell pray' to a young Ustaz.

From that first experience with the young Ustaz, Tengku Harith said that he was forever changed to homosexuality - he got addicted!

Read more on this expose here.

Tengku Harith also claimed that he used to be a 'Pegawai Agama negeri Selangor' (Selangor Religious Officer), but currently working at Kementerian Sumber Asli dan Alam Sekitar. And one of his comment indicated that he was having homosex with his boss.

Questions :
Was he really an alumni of a religious school??
Was he really a Religious officer in Selangor??
Did he really had a homosexual affair with his boss??
Or was this just an attempt to smear Islam and further confuse the public?

After the expose by Mazidul, Tengku Harith's FB page received tremendous attention from the public. In the afternoon, he was reported to have removed the school name and also the Religious Officer in Selangor title from his FB. In the evening, he totally closed his FB page. Bravo, Mazidul!

But I am not sure if we have seen the last of him.. We'll see.

"SI TANGGANG" (PART II) : THE SON RESPONDED

Yesterday, I wrote on my blog about a tearful mother, who cries for her son to repent and return to the fold of his family. The mother's disappointment on her son's behavior and what her son has become, unmistakably resembles the famous folk lure story "SI TANGGANG".

The son happens to be a high profile politician, who currently hold the post of the Deputy President of Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR), Azmin Ali.

Read my earlier post 'True Story of "SI TANGGANG"'

Today the son responded - implying that his mother lied (fitnah) and that she is part of a conspiracy to politically-assassinate him.

The Son
High profile politician, Azmin Ali
The Mother
Che Tom Yahaya

Watch this brief video...

Translated quotes from the video :

"Inquirer : What can you say about the video that TV3 showed last night.. video about your mother?"

"Azmin : That means the election is near (smile)"

"Inquirer : So, are you going to meet your mother?"

"Azmin : The election is near (smile)!! That's the only way for UMNO to win, by ways of slandering (fitnah)"

Ya Allah, please always give guidance to our children...

TRUE STORY OF "SI TANGGANG"

"Kisah Si Tanggang" is one of Malaysia's famous folk lure stories. It is a heart-wrenching story about an ungrateful son who abandoned and insulted his mother and family after he found fame and glory. Have a read at this children folk lure story here. Perhaps we could all gain some moral from the story.

BUT this post is not going to talk about the folk lure story 'Si Tanggang', but about a real life one who live among us.

Watch this video of a mother, Che Tom Yahaya, who is calling for his son to repent and return to the fold of his family.

Her son is none other then Azmin Ali, who is currently the Deputy President of Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR).

Mother - Che Tom Yahaya

Son - Azmin Ali

Because of Azmin's political status, I am sure that many people would try to politicize this, but let's put politics aside on this one. In Islam, when our mother call for us  - it is a MUST to answer.

Translated quotes from the video:

"Last year's Syawal was the last time he came to my house. After that, he has not called or asked of my well-being and has not also come to see me..."

"... He told his children not to eat anything in that house (Che Tom's house) - it is all HARAM!!..."

"... Then his daughter, Ina, pulled a chair to sit, but he scolded her and said 'Ina, dont sit on that chair! It has not been purified (samak) yet. If you want to sit, it needs to be purified first!'. Then, he quickly grabbed the chair and shoved it to the side..."

"Azmin was very different before. He always remembers his parents and love his siblings. If he goes abroad, he will always bring something back for the family. But not now! Now, even when he hear that I am sick, he will ignore it"

"Where is the fairness (keadilan) that he is fighting for?? To other people, he seem to care so much; but to his own mother who gave birth to him... could could he do this to me?? This is what's breaking my heart"

"I feel very disappointed. If possible, Azmin, please repent and don't continue with this kind of behaviour. I never teach you to behave like this..."

"Leave that group (PKR)! Many of his friends has already repented and left that group. Hopefully he will do the same..."

"If he doesn't even want to see me while I am alive, then he doesn't have to come looking for me when I am dead - no point"

Let us pray that Che Tom's son gets to watch this video and hear her cries... and (hopefully) he would return to his family soon.

TIBAI - What A Catchy Name!

Election fever is definitely in the air now.

Actually, I never intended for my blog to be a political one. However, the latest news in the political front really caught my attention - that is the establishment of an organization called 'TIBAI', which if we translate it into English means 'Bash Up'. Hehe....

TIBAI is actually an acronym made up from Malay words:

'Tolak Individu Bernama Anwar Ibrahim',

Translated in English as 'Denounce That Individual Named Anwar Ibrahim'.

And that individual being referred to in the acronym is none other than Anwar Ibrahim, the current opposition leader in the Malaysian politics.

The ironic thing about this is - TIBAI is not formed by Anwar's political enemies, but it is actually formed by people who used to be strong supporters of Anwar Ibrahim. Some of them have gone through hardship and have even been arrested for the violence they participated in support of Anwar Ibrahim before.

Well, of course NOW they can consider themselves as Anwar's political enemies.

Big names in the leadership of TIBAI includes...

Zaid Md Arip
(Ex-PKR member and a strong reformist since the 'Reformasi' era in 1998)

Senator Ezam Mohd Noor
(Ex-PKR Youth Chief and one of the founder of PKR)

YB Zulkifli Nordin
(Kulim-Bandar Baru MP, who is also one of the lawyer who defended Anwar Ibrahim in his sodomy case in 1998)

Datuk S Nalakaruppan
(Long time friend to Anwar Ibrahim)

YB Wee Chong Keong
(Wangsa Maju MP)

Anuar Shaari
(Ex-PKR member and former Private Secretary to Anwar Ibrahim)

Ruslan Kassim
(Ex-PKR Information Chief)

Aminah Abdullah
(Ex-PKR Woman Chief in Penang)

Rahimi Osman
(Former assistance to Anwar Ibrahim)

Actually, for political observers in Malaysia, the formation of TIBAI news did not really come as a big surprise. But the name is very catchy indeed!

It is a known fact that the opposition, especially PKR, has been hit with leadership crisis since a few years ago, which saw many of their top guns abandoning the party.

Anwar's personal problems like the sodomy case and the video (purportedly) showing him having sex with a Chinese prostitute, be it politically-motivated or not, did not help the worsening situation of his party.

Anwar Ibrahim is indeed a public figure in Malaysia, who needs very little introduction. His rebellious nature is well-known to friends and foes since the 70s, where he often led his fellow university students to protest against the government.

But his stand against the government later changed drasticcally when the then Education Minister, Datuk Seri Dr Mahathir (now Tun) took a bold move to invite Anwar into UMNO. Mahathir's move raised eye brows among friends and foes alike. And Anwar's decision to accept Dr Mahathir's invitation shocked them even more. Overnight, Anwar's protest against the government has suddenly changed to being a strong support.

Anwar's support for Dr Mahathir and  the BN government was so strong that his political rivals at that time, who are members of PAS and DAP, labelled him as Ultra-Malay! And  Anwar in return labelled PAS and DAP as extremist!

When Dr Mahathir became the 4th Prime Minister, Anwar was also making his way up the ranks of UMNO and eventually landed himself in the Deputy Premier seat after his controversial victory against the late Tun Ghaffar Baba.

Anwar was seen as the political son to Dr Mahathir and Anwar was set to take over the premiership from his 'father' to become the next Prime Minister, when the un-thinkable happened - Rumors of Anwar's sexual orientation surfaced!!

The rumors started from among the oppositions when PAS member, Mat Sabu, called Anwar as 'Anwar Al-Juburi' in one of his ceramah. This was then echoed by other opposition leaders like Lim Kit Siang and Karpal Singh. They demanded for Anwar's removal from the Malaysian cabinet.

The rumors grew stronger by the day and it finally penetrated into UMNO. This led to a historical event in Malaysian politics, when Dr Mahathir sacked Anwar in 1998 as the Deputy Prime Minister and removed him from the cabinet and UMNO as well.

Everyone remembered how irony that episode was -- Anwar was sacked by the very person who invited him into UMNO and helped him up the rank -- his very own political father -- Dr Mahathir.

It reminded everyone of the ever popular film "Anakku Sazali", by the lagendary P Ramlee.

That marked another turning point in Anwar political life. And like before, within overnight, his stand on the government changes drastically once again. PAS and DAP leaders, who used to label him as 'Anwar Al-Juburi' and who started the whole rumors about Anwar's sexual orientation, has now become his political ally.
