RM100,000 REWARD FOR EVIDENCE, OTHERWISE STOP THE RUMORS

THE RUMORS MUST STOP!

It has been a hot gossip lately in the local entertainment industry, when Siti Nurhaliza's husband, Datuk Khalid Mohd Jiwa (popularly known as Datuk K) was rumored to have gotten married to yet another beautiful artist, Rozita Che Wan.

Rozita has denied the rumors and any claims linking her to Datuk K (View Rozita's denial here). She said that she and her family has received unwanted attention due to this rumors. She even threatened to sue those responsible for the rumors (View Rozita's sue threat here). Rozita added that she has never met Datuk K and was puzzled why she was linked to him.

Siti Nurhaliza has also refuted the rumors and says that she trust her husband (View Siti's refute here). When asked how did she react upon hearing about the rumors, Siti said: 

"I don't feel anything at all and I don't think I need to question my husband about it because it's not true".

Datin Zaitun Mohd Jiwa, sister to Datuk K, has also stepped forward and offered a reward of RM100,000 to those who has solid evidence to prove that her brother really did marry another artist as rumored (View Zaitun's reward offer here).

"Those who have been spreading the rumors should come forward with their evidence or otherwise STOP IT!!" she said.

She also said that this is not the first time that this rumors has surfaced. She have heard people linking her brother to Rozita before, but no one ever come forward with any evidence. So, as far as she is concerned, these are just a rumors spread by those with ill intention.

Siti Nurhaliza is a popular artist in Malaysia and often regarded the the Number 1 singer in Malaysia. Siti and Datuk K has been married since 2006, after months of speculation. Her plan to marry Datuk K causes a temporarily uproar and criticism, since she is marrying a divorcee who is 20 years elder than her, with four sons. At that time, Siti was accused of causing the divorce. However, the issue was rebutted when Jabatan Agama Islam Selangor verified that Datuk K and his former wife, Tengku Zawyah Tengku Izham officially separated in February 2004.

EARTHQUAKE - Tsunami Alert And Reminder

At around 4:40pm today, friends in Penang, Kedah and also many areas in Klang Valley informed me that they all felt tremors in their areas. Many of them even had to evacuate their buildings when they felt the building shaking.

Not too long afterwards, it was on the news!!

"Earthquake of 8.9 magnitude has hit the waters near Aceh Province in Indonesia". 

The magnitude however, was later revised down by the US Geological Surveythe to be 8.7 and tsunami alerts were issued. USGS confirmed that the quake centred 33km beneath the ocean floor and about 434km from Banda Aceh. 

So far, there have been no report of death from the quake. 

Let's pray that there will not be any.

This immediately brought my memory back in time to Dec 26, 2004. It was just a day after Christmas, when a giant earthquake of 9.1 magnitude occurred that day, triggering a huge and powerful tsunami in the Indian Ocean. The tsunami hit Aceh province with the speed of about 800km/h. It flattened the province to the ground and killed 230,000 people that day. 

A horrific day it was.

DAULAT TUANKU!

11th April 2012 has been declared as a one-off national holiday to mark the installation of the 14th Yang Dipertuan Agong of Malaysia. 

 

The Conference of Rulers have actually concluded the election on 13th December 2011. Sultan Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah of Kedah has been elected to be installed as the 14th Yang Dipertuan Agong of Malaysia. Congratulation is well deserved for Tuanku Abdul Halim. He will helm the throne for the next 5 years. His predecessor is Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin, who will now go back to Terengganu to resume his duties as the Sultan of Terengganu.

During the same session on 13th December 2011, after having concluded the election of the 14th Yang Dipertuan Agong, the Conference of Ruler then proceeded to elect Sultan Muhammad V of Kelantan as the Timbalan Yang Dipertuan Agong. Congratulation is well deserved to Sultan Muhammad V as well.

At the age of 83, Sultan Abdul Halim marks a personal record as this is the second time that he was  elected as the Yang Dipertuan Agong, having served in the same capacity as the 5th Yang Dipertuan Agong between 1970 - 1975.

It is also a sweet coincident that during his service as the 5th Yang Dipertuan Agong, Tun Abdul Razak was the Prime Minister at that time. Now, as he is being installed as the 14th Yang Dipertuan Agong, it is Tun Razak's son, Datuk Seri Najib who is the Prime Minister now.

Since this royal office was established in 1957, there have been 13 previous Yang Dipertuan Agong. These are the rulers who was made Yang Dipertuan Agong previous:

1. Tuanku Abdul Rahman of Negeri Sembilan -- 1957 to 1960 (he died in office)
2. Sultan Hishamuddin Alam Shah of Selangor -- 1960 to 1960 (he died in office)
3. Tuanku Syed Putra of Perlis -- 1960 to 1965
4. Sultan Ismail Nasiruddin Shah of Terengganu -- 1965 to 1970
5. Sultan Abdul Halim of Kedah -- 1970 to 1975
6. Sultan Yahya Petra of Kelantan -- 1975 to 1979 (he died in office)
7. Sultan Ahmad Shah Al-Mustain Billah of Pahang -- 1979 to 1984
8. Sultan Iskandar of Johor -- 1984 to 1989
9. Sultan Azlan Muhibbudin Shah of Perak -- 1989 to 1994
10. Tuanku Jaafar of Negeri Sembilan -- 1994 to 1999
11. Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz of Selangor -- 1999 to 2001 (he died in office)
12. Tuanku Syed Sirajudin of Perlis -- 2001 to 2006

PASSERBY EFFECT - Would you help?

Earlier today, I was driving near my house. It was raining and it was rush-hour at around 6pm. As I stopped at a traffic light, I noticed a few men trying to forced open a Honda Civic car, which was already attached to a tow truck.

My immediate reaction was
"Poor thing. His car broke down during a rainy day and in a heavy traffic!"

While waiting for the traffic light to turn green, I continue to watch them. But suddenly a thought came to my mind. What if... What if these men are actually car thieves? The car was already on a tow truck, why don't they tow the car to a workshop, before 'processing' the car? Why do it in the rain?

The light turned green and I drove off to my destination.

But my mind continued to play that brief scenario I just saw and I continued to guess WHAT IF.... Should I have stopped and make sure that the owner of the car is also present? Should I have called the police? Did I just become part of the "passer by effect"?

What would you do? Would you stop and ask?

Horrifying footage of a 2-year-old girl in China being run over by two separate vehicles. In that footage,18 people passed by, but none of them did anything to help this toddler, which causes worldwide outrage. CNN reports that the security footage of the incident has led the nation of 1.3 billion people to do some collective soul-searching.

 HERO STABBED, BUT NOBODY CARED....

April 2010, a homeless man, Hugo Tale-Yax rescued a woman who was being threatened by a man with a knife. The attacker turn on him instead and stabbed him several times - and left. The woman flet the scene too. As the surveillance video show, more than TWO DOZEN people passed by the groaning man, but no one did anything to help. One person even took picture of the man. Hugo eventually bled to death.

JUST DIDN'T WANT TO GET INVOLVED.....

March 1964, Catherine Genovese was about to enter her apartment, when she was stabbed twice in the back. She screamed, but neighbours dismissed it as drunken brawl or lover spat. She collapsed in front of her doorway. The attacker left, only to return 10 minutes later and stabbed her many times more and he even rape her. In the police investigation, 12 people later claimed that they witness the first attack, but they 'just didn't want to get involved'. Catherine died due to the brutal stabbing.

AVENGERS - ASSEMBLE!!

MOVIE-GOERS and comic book fans, braise yourself... you will soon be treated with one of the most anticipated movies this year - The Avengers!!

I am sure many of us have already watched these superheroes in their own individual movies - Iron Man, Thor, The Incredible Hulk and Captain America. If you have not watched these individual movies yet, then it's a good time to catch up -- Because this May, these superheroes will be brought together to fight a common villain and bring the world back from a brink of disaster.

And while you catch up on those individual movies, let me give you some tips. If you watch those individual movies carefully, you will be able to spot Hawkeye, Nick Fury and Black Widow somewhere in those movies. These are also members of The Avengers, but does not have their own individual movie.

*hints: 

• Hawkeye made a cameo appearance in the movie 'Thor'
• Black Widow is one of the supporting character in 'Iron Man 2'
• Nick Fury can be spotted in ALL the individual movies above 

As for the up-coming movie "The Avengers", I am not going to be a spoiler and tell you the plots. hehe...
